CTM Participated in the WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum Focusing on the Open Corporation of Digital Trade along the “Belt and Road”

Hosted by the World Internet Conference (WIC), co-organized by the People’s Government of Fujian Province, the Digital Silk Road Development Forum was held in Quanzhou, Fujian on July 24. Serving as one of the senior members of the WIC, CTM, a subsidiary of CITIC Telecom and nominated representative to join the seminar to engage in in-depth discussions on the open corporation along the “Belt and Road”, as well as the development and governance of artificial intelligence.

The opening ceremony of the WIC Digital Silk Road Development Forum took place on July 24 at the Quanzhou Grand Theatre in Fujian. Ms. Jennifer Angulo, Director, Information Technology, CTM and Mr. Joe Ho, Director, Teleone, CTM attended the event. They engaged in meaningful discussions with other participants on key topics including “Belt and Road” digital trade cooperation, the role of AI in promoting high-quality development of the private sector and the smart transformation and sustainable development of international transportation, aiming to explore new opportunities for the Digital Silk Road.

During the forum, Ms. Jennifer Angulo and Mr. Joe Ho were invited to participate in discussions on AI development and governance, as well as a senior training session focused on “Digital Economy and Data Compliance”. Ms. Angulo expressed her honor in attending the event, which brought together government officials, international organizations, industry leaders and experts from around the world to share insights on the development of “Belt and Road” Digital Silk Road and AI governance. She hopes to gain deeper understanding of the latest trends in global digital transformation and digital trade, contributing to the accelerated digital development of Macau.

Mr. Ho highlighted that he would concentrate on the learning of the development, application, and governance of AI, as well as data compliance issues, during the forum and its related activities. He hopes to share the insights and consensus reached among attendees with the software development center team, aiming to enhance responsible AI development and applications and ultimately provide Macau residents with more high-quality and safe smart solutions.
